Children can learn new words with familiar words that they could think of right away. Take the new word "stammer" as an example, as long as you break it down into shorter and easier phrases like "stam" (similar to stamp) and "mer" (similar to merry), and then let the child associate it with "happy stamp", the whole memory process can be simplified.

Disassembling

This memory training method is especially helpful for learning Chinese. "Disassemble" the new characters, and encourage children to learn the new characters in the smallest structural unit of Chinese characters. When children learn new words, they not only learn the meaning of the new words themselves but also learn how to "split" a word. This way, children can memorize the structure of new characters.

Coding method is to use different coding methods to link images to memory. This memory training method can start by using two numbers as a set of codes, each paired with an image, that is, 100 codes from "00" to "99" are paired with 100 images. This method is very effective for memorizing events, theories, or other systematic knowledge. For example, "31" can correspond to the mathematical pi of 3.14, and "97" corresponds to the year of Hong Kong's handover. This memory training method is suitable for children who need to recite effectively because the use of coding can deepen the child's impression of knowledge.

The coding method can also be used when learning foreign languages. Just systematize the information and turn it into dynamic images. Students can directly use intuition to associate simple things in life without thinking much. For example, the pronunciation of "tion" and "sion" is similar to the Chinese pronunciation of "lip". As long as different images are added, children can use this as a memory point.

"tion" starts with T, and the T is similar to the image of a cross, so children can remember the picture of "a cross that is close to the lips"; and the S is similar to a snake, which can be a snake wriggling on the lips. If you remember it like this, it will be easy to tell the difference between the two.

Therefore, the coding method is particularly suitable for distinguishing words that are similar in sound.

Story Memory

Even unrelated things can be easily remembered by children as long as they are organized into an interesting story. The more out-of-the-box and interesting the storyline is, the easier to bear that in mind. With the pictures drawn by the children themselves, the chance that the children will forget will be greatly reduced.

Children can also add places to stories, use familiar spaces and places as the basis of memory, recall objects in the space in sequence, and make a story association. In the future, as long as you follow the corresponding objects in this space in sequence, you can easily recall memories.

This mnemonic method has a wide range of applications, and is most effective in memorizing new words, and is also suitable for children of different ages. It is extremely flexible, and children can add different sensory elements or characters at will, and the learning process will be more interesting with the memory being particularly profound.
